Taking a short break from studying...

Whew! The information I have to take in isn't hard, it's just a lot of it to retain. I'll do English and Stress Management today and on Sunday I'll do Psychology & Math. I guess it's a good thing the chapters I'm reading are on relaxation and meditation techniques. LOL
I need to seriously look at my setup for where I study. I can't do it here when the kids are around because they want to look at tv or play music & games on the computer. I get distracted too easily. Like the other day, I should have been studying and instead got caught up looking at Word Girl on tv. Yes, I understand that I'm almost 40 but I'm a big kid inside and that show amuses me. LOL
Anyways, now that I have set my goals into place, I have my Lorna Doone cookies and my last cup of coffee for the day, I can get back to the tasks before me. Because once I'm done with that my next challenge will be to make some payment arrangements and to get myself ready for the weekend (Round 2 with my little niece).

And away we go!

Dropped my daughter at the airport earlier today so that she could return to college. It was nice to be able to see and talk to her, maybe next time when she comes home she'll be a little more active and I'll be a little less active so that we can spend more quality time together.

Right now I'm waiting on my oldest to get off work, she's pulling one of those evening to the break of dawn shifts so I can't take my sleep meds unless she's planning on walking home. Hah! That's a joke folks, it's 12 degrees outside, I would never make my babies walk in the cold if I have any say in it.

I also came up with an idea over dinner while talking to my oldest and if things work out as I pray they will, we should both have our own vehicles in the coming weeks. The Lord knows what we need and he will provide, I believe it! We both have school, she has work and I will get myself some form of employment THIS year so we need two vehicles.

My youngest has oral surgery tomorrow to remove her wisdom teeth. This should be fun...for who, I don't know yet but we'll see who's laughing when it's all over with. She gets to go to school first to get her assignments for the day and possibly tomorrow. But who knows, she might be able to return to school on Tuesday but how lucid will she be in class, that's the real question. LOL I can't send the girl to school buzzed up on Tylenol 3's or anything like that.

The only issue I have is that my first day of class also starts but I won't be able to go since I have to take her to get her teeth removed. I'll have to make an appearance beforehand and see if I can get the syllabus for the class and turn it in later. Anyway it goes this week is going to be an adventure for us all. School, work, doc appointments and my last day of sleep study. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since I began that program, it went by so fast.

It won't be long now...

I have exactly eight more days until I start classes. I'm also nearing the end of the year long sleep study I'm in for my insomnia. Depending on my schedule and how well I'm doing in classes I'll have to see if I sign up for another one. It paid well for the time I actually put it.

I'll be happy to have something more to do and not have as much free time on my hands. Is that strange to say? I mean, there's only so much house cleaning, errands and playing on the internet one can do in 24 hours and it can become boring and tiresome. And also my child can stop telling me that I use Twitter and Facebook too much. Hah! I'll just have something new to tweet and FB about. LOL

Anyhow, I should be in bed but I'm not sleepy and I have another load of clothes to throw in the washer/dryer so I'm outta here until next time.

Such A Nice Day...

It must be really cold outside because its cool in the apartment and I have the heat turned up as far as I'm willing to take it. I did some weatherizing but I didn't go all out like I used to when I lived in a house and my utility bill was $200 plus dollars a month. I don't even pay a fourth of that now.

Anyhoo, my family came over last night to spend New Years Eve with me. We cranked up the music and watched the countdown on the television. I had fun, even danced a little (when people laugh at you can you really call it dancing?) and my sis manned the blender for mixed drinks. Virgin for some, not so virgin for others.

I cooked dinner. It was okay. Nothing to brag about, needed more salt and whatnot but it wasn't horrific either. I even played video games with my little nephew and by 4a.m. it was time to turn off the lights and call the party quits.

But then I was awakened by my little niece (six months old) crying and not wanting to go to sleep. It was around 6:30 a.m. when all was quiet again and I closed my eyes to sleep. But then 9:30 a.m. rolled around and I found myself awake again. I'm ready for a nap but fear if I go to sleep now I might not sleep through the night like I should.

I'll have to decide soon what's for dinner and make some phone calls. Some folks don't know what's been going on with me and what they think is going on with me is so wrong, I need to set straight any incorrect information. I'm going to try to keep in better contact with my family this year. 2009 was bumpy for so many reasons, I'm hoping to have a smoother transition in 2010.
